How To Add Caption To Images In WordPress?

WordPress let’s you add as many images as you need for your site. But, what about you add the image details on those images added in your posts or pages? Is that even possible for your site? Well, WordPress has got you covered up on that via caption addition on images. So, here we will learn about how to add caption to images in WordPress, shall we?

What is caption on images in WordPress?

Well, the answer to the above question is, it is the small piece of details added for those images about what that image represents. For eg: if you are blogging for your travel site then, probably you may want to add about where was that place right? Well, this caption feature will help you to add those.

Similarly, if you are blogging on some PC component’s then, adding caption for that too will probably be useful since user can know easily about what that image is for.

How To add caption to images in WordPress?

Now, since you now have some knowledge about what is image caption in WordPress, now let’s move ahead and learn about how to add caption to images in WordPress, shall we?

First of all, you need to add the media in your posts via Add Media button in the post editor section. Now, you need to upload the image as needed for your site.

Now, after that, you can see that there are several input parts available in right side in same view. There, you can add Title, Alt Text, Description as well as Caption too. And here, since we are discussing about how to add caption to images in WordPress, here in the same window, you need to utilize the Caption field available there.

And in the above screenshot, you can see that we have highlighted the Caption field in same where you need to add the image caption for your site. Now, after the caption is added then, you can click on the Insert into post button and then the caption will be added to the required image.

In the above screenshot, you can see that the image caption set as in post is shown in the post. However, depending on the theme design, the above output design will vary for your site.
